History of Coca-Cola
In 1886 Inventor
John Pemberton, an Atlanta pharmacist created a dark colored
liquid chocked full of caffeine and a smidge of cocaine! Pemberton walked down
to the local pharmacy to sell the drink at 5 cents a glass. Pemberton's bookkeeper
Frank Robinson gave this new drink the name Coca-Cola and designed the famous
script text logo. Sadly, Pemberton died two years later never to know how
famous his creation would become. A man named Asa Griggs Candler bought the
rights to the Coca-Cola Company and became the first president.
Coca-Cola
become more and more successful through the early twentieth century the company
grew larger and created more drinks like Sprite, Fanta, Tab and Diet Coke.
Coca-Cola
became a big part of the American life style throughout the 1040’s and 1950’s
with television advertisements creating a massive impact on consumers.
The Company
made great business decisions like supporting the Olympic Games which the
company still has an incredible relationship with today. I think
that without coca-cola’s genius advertisement campaigns through the twentieth
century the drink would not be the drink it is today.
